It is quite obvious that Broke Nut was so focused on talking smack on the golf course that he didn't even clear the tee box. While reminding his playing partner that he would “probably miss the fairway like usual,” Broke Nut wandered directly into the golfer’s swing path. His partner did, in fact, miss the fairway—but unfortunately did not miss Broke Nut.

A golf club can move at extremely high speed, and the area around a golfer taking a shot should always be treated as a danger zone. Before anyone swings, everyone in the group should stand well clear of the golfer, outside the path of the club and safely behind the ball. Never walk behind, beside, or in front of someone preparing to swing.

Golfers should also take a quick look around before beginning their swing to make sure the tee box is clear. A few seconds of awareness from everyone can prevent a very painful accident.
